I didn't start Astra because the world needed another browser. I started it because I wanted to understand what a browser could become when it is built around the person using it.

A browser is where we read, work, learn, communicate, create and explore the internet every day. That makes it more than an application — it is one of the most important pieces of software on a computer.

I wanted to build something that gives the user more control over that experience — something more intentional, private, customizable and user-focused. Astra started from that desire: to make a browser that feels like it was made for you, not for data collection or engagement metrics.

Astra is currently being built independently by me — while completing my final year of engineering at Walchand Institute of Technology, Solapur. Building a browser is a large undertaking, and I won't pretend otherwise.

The work spans browser UI, privacy features, security, customization, performance, downloads and releases, this website, testing, debugging, user experience, and open-source development. Each piece takes time, attention, and learning.

I am still learning. I am still building. And Astra is still growing. Every feature, every bug fixed, every release and every late-night improvement is another step toward the browser I imagined.
